Your barcode
Test printed barcodes with your scanner before putting them on products.
How to use this tool
- Choose Code 128 for your own item codes, or EAN-13 for 13-digit retail product numbers.
- Type the code, or switch to Label sheet to enter many codes with names and prices.
- Pick the bar width and height, then press Generate barcode.
- Download as PNG or SVG, or print. For a label sheet, use Print label sheet.
Code 128 or EAN-13?
Code 128 suits internal SKUs, invoice numbers, shelf and asset labels. It supports letters, digits and common symbols. EAN-13 is the 13-digit retail code. Enter 12 digits and the check digit is added for you. Note that EAN numbers sold in shops are issued through GS1; this tool draws the barcode but does not register a number for you.
Example
- Code 128: SB-100245 creates a scannable barcode for that SKU.
- EAN-13: 590123412345 becomes 5901234123457 with the check digit added.
Frequently asked questions
Are these barcodes scannable?
Yes. Both formats follow the standard encodings and were tested with a barcode reader. Print at a good size and contrast, and always test with your own scanner.
Can I use any number as an EAN-13 on my products?
The barcode will scan, but numbers used in shops and marketplaces are normally issued by GS1. Using a number that belongs to someone else can cause conflicts. For internal use, Code 128 is the safer choice.
What is the EAN-13 check digit?
The 13th digit is calculated from the first 12. If you enter 12 digits the tool adds it. If you enter 13 digits it checks that the last digit is correct.
Can I print many labels at once?
Yes. Switch to Label sheet, enter one code per line with an optional name and price, and use Print label sheet.
Is anything uploaded?
No. The barcodes are drawn in your browser and nothing is sent or stored.
Which file should I download?
PNG works everywhere. SVG stays sharp at any size, which is best for printing large labels.
About the Barcode Generator
A barcode turns a product code into lines a scanner can read in a split second. Shops use barcodes to bill faster and avoid typing mistakes; warehouses use them to count and move stock accurately. This generator creates barcodes you can download and print.
Many Pakistani shops sell items without manufacturer barcodes, such as loose goods, garments made locally or own-brand products. Printing your own codes lets you scan these items too, so every product moves through the POS the same way.
For products sold through large retailers or marketplaces, official GS1 barcodes may be required. For use inside your own shop, internal codes work perfectly.
