Free QR Code Generator

Create a QR code for a website, WhatsApp chat, plain text, email address, phone number or Wi-Fi network. Pick colors and size, then download it as a PNG. The code is made in your browser and your content is never uploaded.

Be careful what you encode. Anyone who scans a QR code can read its content, including Wi-Fi passwords. Do not put secrets in codes you publish or print.

Your QR code

Choose a type, enter your details and press Generate. Your QR code will appear here.

Always test a QR code with your phone before printing it. The QR code content stays on your device.

How to use this tool

  1. Choose what the code is for: website, WhatsApp, text, email, phone or Wi-Fi.
  2. Fill in the fields shown for that type.
  3. Choose colors and size. Dark code on a light background scans best.
  4. Press Generate QR code and test it with your phone camera.
  5. Press Download PNG, or Copy encoded text to reuse the content.

Tips for a code that scans well

  • Keep strong contrast: dark foreground on a light background. Avoid light-on-dark (inverted) codes.
  • Leave the white border (quiet zone) around the code. It is added for you.
  • Shorter content makes a simpler code that is easier to scan. Long text creates a dense code that needs to be printed larger.
  • Print at least about 2 cm (0.8 inch) wide for close-range scanning, larger for posters.
  • Higher error correction lets a code survive small damage, but makes it denser.

Wi-Fi codes use the standard format WIFI:T:WPA;S:name;P:password;;. The characters \ ; , : " in the name or password are escaped automatically.

The code is generated with the open-source qrcode-generator library (MIT license), served from this website, so the tool keeps working offline after the page has loaded.

Frequently asked questions

Is this QR code generator free?

Yes, free, with no sign-up. The codes do not expire because they contain the content directly rather than pointing to a service.

Is my content uploaded anywhere?

No. The QR code is created in your browser. Your text, links and Wi-Fi details are not sent to any server.

Is it safe to make a Wi-Fi QR code?

It works well for guests, but anyone who sees the code can read the password. Do not publish it publicly, and change the password if it leaks.

How do I download the QR code?

Press Download PNG. The image is saved to your device with a name such as qr-code-url.png.

Why does my QR code not scan?

Check that the foreground is much darker than the background, that the code is not too small, and that the content is not too long. Increase the size or shorten the text.

Can I use Urdu or emoji in the text?

Yes. Text is encoded as UTF-8, so Urdu and other languages work. Test with your phone scanner, because some older scanners display non-English text poorly.

What is the difference between the Website and WhatsApp types?

WhatsApp builds a wa.me chat link from a phone number and an optional message, and the code opens a WhatsApp chat when scanned.

About the QR Code Generator

QR codes connect the physical world to your digital channels. A customer scans a code on a menu, shop counter, flyer or package and lands on your website, WhatsApp chat, location or payment details. This generator creates QR codes you can download and print.

In Pakistan, businesses use QR codes for digital menus, WhatsApp ordering, Google reviews, social media pages and payment information. Placed well, a QR code saves typing and increases response.

Always test a QR code with several phones before printing in bulk.
